Sonatus seeks a highly motivated AI engineer to join our team and help us accelerate software innovations for next-generation software-defined vehicles. Location-wise, candidates should already reside within the SF/Bay Area, CA region as we promote a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in office requirements (for synergy, collaboration, engagement, and camaraderie with peers and management). Duties and Responsbilities

Lead the effort to leverage existing AI models and frameworks to solve business problems across domainsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into AI solutionsFine-tune and optimize existing AI models for specific use cases and applicationsExplore and experiment with various AI models, libraries, and techniques to find the best approach for solving specific problemsWhen necessary, develop custom solutions using AI techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer visionWork closely with data scientists and software engineers to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflows Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed AI models and make improvements as necessaryDocument and communicate technical designs, processes, and best practices

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Master’s or PhD preferred. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and other AI technologiesExperience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. Proficiency in software development best practices, version control systems, and agile methodologiesExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analyticallyStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus

Experience in the Automotive Industry is highly desirable

Early Career: $118,000 – $194,000 Mid-Career: $176,500 – $271,000 Seasoned Career: $214,500 – $300,000 The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels and what Sonatus (“Company”) could reasonably expect to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
