Job Description
Application Engineer
Essential Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement and document Control and Protection Simulink modules Update/create requirement and design specifications Review and identify needed implementation on module by module bases Update/create Simulink unit test scenarios and run testing Update/create documentation and reports to match implementation Intermediate reviews with technical leaders at each step of the update process (initial review -> proposed implementation plan -> updated model and test harness -> final approval of test results and documentation)
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Software/Power Electronics (Control) Engineering with considerable work experience (as Lead/Senior developer) In-depth understanding of HVDC technology and Control and/or Protection design principles and algorithms Understanding theoretical aspects of MMC converters and protection systems in power system domain Experience of developing and testing Control and/or Protection functions Extensive experience in working with Matlab – Simulink Familiar with Agile-SW development practices Experienced user Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation Strong can-do attitude and energy level Demonstrated experience and track record of success in working with global engineering teams
