Scope:
Project aims at integrating and harmonize data from strategic platforms into our global data platform. We look for a data engineer to create, maintain and improve pipelines from source to harmonized layer and from harmonized layer to consumption layer for Power BI reporting. Business domains covered are around Commercial insurance pricing & underwriting.Development of new functionality in the Python-based ETL pipelineMaintenance and optimalization of the existing pipelinesPlan capacity and sizing of the service components, proactive cloud component managementInitiating planning and set up of new service componentsCoordinate the operations and maintenance of related software, complex server infrastructure and databases (Synapse, PowerBI, Local development)Maintain service related documentation according with Allianz Technology standardsMonitoring and SLA ManagementDocument, maintain and optimize processes and configurations related to the environmentsCoordinate with various stakeholders in development, architecture, rollout and operations teams as well as with customers for releases/upgrades/changesManage and support service related risk assessments and audits

Skills:
7 years of experiencePreferably at least 5-7 years’ experience in data engineeringAt least 3 years’ experience with data oriented Python (Polars, Pandas, Pyspark, etc.)At least 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure, especially Synapse is a plus – Azure (ideally experience working with ADP platform)Solid understanding of cloud architectureProgramming Languages: SQL, PL/SQL, Python – Hands-on experience with building complex SQL queries and creating ETL loadsDatabases: Oracle, PostgreSQLUnderstanding of data warehouse modeling and architecturesСode versioning: GitGitHub Actions (Workflows) for CI/CDBasic understanding of AWS and application containerizationPreferably to have a basic understanding of Kafka and data streamingTools & Technologies: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Grafana, Python, SQL and PL/SQL, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), Amazon EC2, RDS, ERWIN, Visual Studio Code, GIT, Jira, Azure Synapse Experience working in multi-cultural teamITILExperience with software as a service conceptLeadership skills: Communication, dev team coordination, feedback, task creation & assignmentStrong analytical skills, Organizing abilities, Strong customer focusCan rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and prioritiesAdvanced English is a mustExcellent communication skills with high customer focusNice to have:Desirable: database knowledge, PowerBI knowledgeDesirable: Experience in Bl ProjectsDesirable: Familiar with DataVault 2.0
