Job Overview

At APTIV, we design, develop, and validate systems to improve safety and comfort in vehicles. This includes the development of innovative computer vision features and machine learning algorithms for interior and exterior cameras. Examples of features are vehicle and pedestrian detection, lane detection, traffic sign and traffic light recognition, driver drowsiness sensing, seat occupancy monitoring, child presence detection, and hand gesture recognition.

Your Role:

Developing advanced computer vision algorithms for automotive interior (in-cabin) or exterior camerasCreating algorithm prototypes in PythonWriting high quality, tested and efficient algorithms in C++ for our embedded AI/ML SW stackFiling patent applications to strengthen the APTIV IP footprintWorking in an agile SW development team

Your Background:

Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related fieldStrong software development skills in C++ and/or PythonPassion for clean, well-tested, and documented codeMotivated learnerFluent in EnglishExcellent written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team

Nice to have:

Knowledge of classical computer vision algorithmsKnowledge of machine learning/artificial intelligence, model building and evaluationKnowledge of common ML frameworks (Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, fast.ai)Knowledge of camera calibrationPractical experience with Linux, version control systems (Git), build systems (Make, CMake) and code review tools (Gerrit, Gitlab, Bitbucket)
