Job Overview

At APTIV, we design, develop, and validate systems to improve safety and comfort in vehicles. This includes the development of innovative computer vision features and machine learning algorithms for interior and exterior cameras. Examples of features are vehicle and pedestrian detection, lane detection, traffic sign and traffic light recognition, driver drowsiness sensing, seat occupancy monitoring, child presence detection, and hand gesture recognition.

In this fast growing and innovative technology area, you would be working in an international team of computer vision and machine learning experts to shape the future of mobility with us.

Your Role:

Developing advanced machine learning algorithms for automotive interior (in-cabin) or exterior cameras from early prototype to platform integration ready.Writing high quality, tested and efficient software in Python and C++ for our AI/ML SW StackFiling patent applications to strengthen the APTIV IP footprintWorking in an Agile SW development teamLeading and mentoring a small group of SW engineers

Your Background:

Master’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related fieldSoftware development skills in C++ and/or PythonPassion for clean, well-tested, and documented code.Motivated learnerFluent in EnglishExcellent written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsKnowledge and experience in topics of classical computer vision and camera calibration

Nice to have:

Understanding of artificial intelligence, model building and evaluationKnowledge in at least one common ML framework (Tensorflow, PyTorch)
