working together to streamline the real estate transaction process and create a delightful and trustworthy journey for our customers. We work on every part of the stack, and collaborate with stakeholders across Zillow to
make mortgages a transparent and seamless piece of the housing super app.

The ZHL QUAFFLE team builds custom software that loan operators use every day to complete borrower applications and assess pricing configuration
and eligibility. Loan operators help borrowers navigate the complex process of getting their mortgage financed, and finding the best options to get them into the home of their dreams. As part of the QUAFFLE team, you will
help create a best-in-class suite of tools, technologies, and processes, which – through seamless integration with each other and the broader Zillow technology ecosystem – support and delight borrowers from their first interaction
with ZHL until closing.

ES6, React, Typescript, and GraphQL to power our web applicationsPython and NodeJS for our APIs and servicesSQL Server and DynamoDb as persistence layersAWS
services like Step Functions, ECS, Fargate, and LambdaDatadog and Splunk for monitoring

About The Role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery and ongoing support of projects
from end-to-end. In addition, you will:

Deliver high-quality, testable code while clearly communicating about timelines. Contribute to the technical and product direction of new features. Review code and weave quality
into everything we do. Pragmatically advocate for excellence in our engineering processes. Facilitate high-value collaboration between engineers within and across teams. Mentor junior engineers, and upskill everyone on your
team. We want to learn from you!Set the tone for how we work on an ambitious, inclusive, and multi-functional team.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to
the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington
DC the standard base pay range for this role is $158,200.00 – $252,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington
state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and
location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

Bringing 5-7 years of software development experience or relevant transferable skills. Highly skilled with modern development technologies
used to design, deliver, debug, and maintain front-end user interfaces and back-end software systems. Recognized as a technical leader on your team for several years and have an impact beyond your team. Enthusiastic about
collaborating with engineers, product managers, program managers, and analysts on critical projects. Passionate about setting standard methodologies and raising the bar for testing, code quality, and maintainability – not
only for the team but for the entire engineering organization. Comfortable distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, resolving ambiguity, and balancing ambitious objectives. Have Fintech or mortgage
