Position Description
PrePass is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining software applications
critical to our transportation operations. You will leverage your .NET skills to design, implement, and test software solutions with a focus on hardware interfacing. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone
with a few years of experience to gain valuable industry knowledge and grow your software development skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Write code and develop software applications (cloud and/or on-premise), based on requirements, using programming languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools to create functional
and efficient applications Hardware Interfacing: Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Microsoft .NET technologies, including .NET Core, .NET 8, and C#, with an emphasis on hardware interfacingTesting
and Debugging: Perform rigorous testing to identify and fix any bugs or errors, including unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure the software meets quality standards Maintenance and Updates: Update existing
software applications to enhance functionality, fix issues, and incorporate new features, including troubleshooting, patching, and ensuring the software remains up to date Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and other
stakeholders to understand hardware specifications and develop software solutions for seamless integration Documentation: Write clear and concise technical documentation to ensure application maintainability Agile Development:
Work effectively within an Agile development team using Scrum methodologies
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)1-2 years of experience developing software applications using C# and .NET technologiesFamiliarity with software
development methodologies such as Agile (Scrum) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)Understanding of web application security principles and best practicesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication
and collaboration skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in using Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps, and GitKnowledge of core computer science conceptsUnderstanding of
manual and unit testing
Preferred
Experience developing software for the transportation industryExperience with hardware interfacing protocols and communication methodsExperience with cloud platforms such
as Microsoft AzureFamiliarity CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
