About The Role:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, Technology and Business Transformation will be responsible for the IT portfolio as primary point of contact for functional leaders, field managers, sales and operations teams and executives. Key areas of management will include business planning and business relationship management, IT Investment Planning and Demand Management, Business Change Management and Benefit Realization. Acting as a liaison between the business and the technology teams to uncover needs, provide solutions to increase productivity, improve customer experience and create opportunities for greater collaboration across the enterprise through technology. Qualified candidates will possess strong technology, commercial orientation and a proven ability to partner with line managers, sales teams, operating teams and executives to uncover technology solutions that will drive efficiency and success. We are looking for a strategic leader who will act as a partner with the business to understand needs and translate these to the technical team. Your vision and leadership will ensure the success of large transformative initiatives. You will lead the design and implementation of IT projects ensuring seamless, consistent methods of delivery and produce quality deliverables at our branch sales/operations offices and headquarters. Serve as a change agent, proactively driving the Global IT change agenda and ensuring its successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vision and Roadmap Development Develop ERP and Digital Transformation Strategy : Define a comprehensive, multi-year roadmap that aligns with Stephen Gould’s business objectives. Prioritize Key Initiatives : Identify and prioritize digital transformation and ERP initiatives that will impact business efficiency and value. Maintain Alignment with Business Goals : Regularly review and refine the roadmap to ensure alignment with evolving business strategies and market demands. ERP and Core Systems Implementation Oversight End-to-End ERP Implementation : Oversee the implementation of ERP systems in wave five and subsequent phases, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company goals. Core Systems Integration : Ensure seamless integration of ERP with legacy and new IT applications across departments, such as finance, HR, and inventory management. Implementation Wave Management : Plan, execute, and manage branch-specific implementation waves, customizing strategies based on each branch’s needs and readiness. Quality Assurance and Testing : Lead quality assurance processes to confirm ERP functionality meets business requirements. Digital Transformation and Service Optimization Lead Digital Transformation Initiatives : Drive initiatives to leverage executive business objectives, ERP, architecture, and best practices in service delivery to improve operational efficiency. Solutions : Identify and implement technologies solutions that can integrate with the organization’s ERP system, enhancing scalability, flexibility, and business continuity. Optimize Business Processes : Streamline business processes across functions, utilizing enterprise system capabilities to automate and optimize workflows, reporting, and analytics. Implement Best Practices : Apply best practices in IT service delivery, focusing on areas like change management, service level agreements (SLAs), and support models to ensure sustainability. Executive and Branch Advisory Serve as Trusted Advisor to Executives : Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, COO, CIO, and other executive members, providing guidance on business strategy, risk management, and change impact. Branch Leadership Engagement : Regularly engage with branch leadership to communicate project goals and updates and obtain feedback on implementation impact and readiness. Facilitate Steering Committee Meetings : Lead and facilitate steering committee meetings, providing status updates, addressing challenges, and aligning project direction with leadership. Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams : Liaise with various departments, such as operations, finance, training, and HR, to align ERP functionality with department-specific needs. Risk Management and Contingency Planning Develop and Maintain Risk Management Plans : Identify and document potential project risks, data migration, process disruptions, and technology integration. Implement Mitigation Strategies : Actively manage and mitigate identified risks, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Establish Contingency Plans : Prepare contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges, including delays, budget overruns, or resource constraints. Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement Establish KPI and Metric Tracking : Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of ERP and transformation initiatives. Conduct Regular Project Audits and Reviews : Regularly assess project progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain project momentum. Continuous Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process refinement, leveraging ERP capabilities to implement changes that enhance efficiency and operational agility in coordination with the organization’s GPOs. Feedback Loop with Users and Stakeholders : Create structured feedback mechanisms with end-users and stakeholders to ensure user satisfaction and adapt system functionalities to evolving needs
Qualifications/Desired Skills And Experience
Education : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business management or related discipline. Extensive Enterprise Systems Implementation Experience Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end enterprise system implementations with a focus on ERP platforms. Epicor is a plus. Strong background in system integration, with experience aligning capabilities to broader IT architecture. Experience with CRM, HCM, and Data Visualization is a plus. Strategic and Analytical Mindset Ability to define and execute a strategic roadmap that balances short-term needs with long-term transformation objectives. Skilled in analyzing business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions that drive operational efficiency. Leadership and Team Development 10+ years in roles of increasing responsibility in technology and in a corporate environment. 5+ years of supervisory experience Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments. Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and building team capabilities, focusing on talent development and succession planning. Expertise in Digital Transformation In-depth understanding of digital transformation, cloud technologies, and IT service management (ITSM). Knowledge of best practices in data governance, process automation, and technology-driven operational efficiency/optimization. Exceptional Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with senior executives and branch leaders. Adept at building relationships with stakeholders across functions, fostering buy-in, and managing expectations. Consulting at C-Level experience preferred Risk Management and Change Leadership Strong risk management capabilities, with experience developing contingency plans and handling high-stakes decision-making. Skilled in change management practices, including training, engagement, and fostering adaptability across diverse teams.
