Venn is Two Sigma’s portfolio analytics platform used by asset owners, asset managers, and advisors. Venn applies Two Sigma’s expertise in research, data science, and technology to modernize the analytics experience for institutional investors, helping them embrace a quantitative approach to multi-asset portfolio risk and investment decision making. The tools available in Venn help investors perform factor-based risk analysis to inform manager due diligence, investment evaluation, and portfolio construction.
We are seeking an experienced, full-stack Software Engineer to help lead the innovation, technical design, and development of the Venn platform!
You Will Take On The Following Responsibilities
Create, design, build and deploy a SaaS product with an agile approach, from conceptualisation, through meticulous testing, and partnering with Venn’s multi-functional teams to ensure an outstanding in-product UXPerform web service and API design and development in Java and/or Python, using microservices and cloud-based developmentIdeate, test and analyse solutions to data challenges related to computation at scale, portfolio management, data analysis and visualisationConduct front end web development using React, TypeScript, CSS, and other technologiesBecome a domain expert and trusted advisor in the full-stack software engineering field, representing Venn by Two Sigma with clients, prospects and in industry eventsContribute to the continuous learning approach of the team by bringing in new insights, welcoming them from others, and generating even stronger outcomes as a resultMentor junior team members and grow as a leader within the organisation, accelerating your career by embracing opportunities to contribute around the entire organisation
You Should Possess The Following Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience required; 7-10 years of experience preferred building and delivering customer facing productsA Bachelors with Honours in Computer Science or related technical discipline is requiredExperience with Java, Python, or similar object-oriented programming languages (i.e. Kotlin, Scala, C++, etc.)Familiarity with modern front-end technologies: React.js, TypeScript, JavaScriptExperience with relational and NoSQL databases, test automation, DevOps and cloud technologies (AWS preferred)Prior experience with systems design, building enterprise SaaS solutions, experience with user research, and product analytics are a major plusStrong communication skills, keen attention to detail, readiness to challenge assumptions and obsession with building quality software
