Graduate Software Developer – HYBRID

Job Overview

Location: Newcastle Working Pattern: Hybrid Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Role Description As a Graduate Analyst Developer you will work in a self-organized Delivery Team that takes care of developing applications from the initial design phase to the final release. You will interact with people in our different offices around the world and with different expertise. We strongly believe in teamwork and your team is responsible for the quality of the product it delivers. No prior development experience is required and full training will be provided in the languages and technologies that we use.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Develop solutions based on technical designsDevelop unit tests to ensure required quality gateways are metAssist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specificationsExecute best practices for software developmentStrict adherence to agreed standards and SDLC processesParticipate in demos of the product to internal stakeholders and to clientsPerform code reviews for other Analyst DevelopersProduce development estimates which contribute to overall delivery estimatesDelivery of agreed quality outputs within agreed timeframesInvestigate, diagnose and fix support issues, and working closely with Clients to ensure successful resolutionWork with the Analyst Testers to ensure they have an understanding of solutions and testing requirementsActively communicating the status of assigned items of work to the Delivery TeamWork effectively and continue improving business knowledge and programming skillsBe an active member of the development community within FNZ, with the expectation that over time you will start contributing to team sessions and sharing best practice and lessons learntSupport process improvement initiatives and identify new process improvementsMaintain high standards regarding written and verbal communication to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated.

Essential Requirements

Degree educated in a technical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering) min. 2.1Confident, and able to take initiative given client and delivery focused environmentExcellent organisational, administration and time management skillsGood team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clientsHighly developed written and oral communication skillsSuperior analytical thinking and problem solving.
