We are seeking seeking dynamic, goal-oriented Health Data Analytics Consultants to work on health and human services projects requiring intermediate SAS, R, Python, or SQL experience as well as knowledge of statistics and research methodology. These are 100% remote opportunities supporting our client in the Eastern Standard Time zone.
Primary Responsibilities:Perform a broad range of quantitative analysis to inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of Medicare and Medicaid payment modelsSupport the development of payment calculations, conduct financial and trend analysis, calculate quality metrics, and perform fast-paced ad-hoc analysis to quickly address client needsWork with clients to verify analysis parameters and specificationsApply machine learning, econometrics/statistics, predictive modeling, return-on-investment analysis, simulation, and data visualization methods to support the development of health policyEfficiently query large databases of healthcare claims and eligibility dataWrite detailed specifications and documentation of data processing and analytical stepsWrite effective and efficient code both independently and under the guidance of project managers using best practice quality control proceduresMaintain a consistently high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasksWork effectively and cooperatively as a member of a project teamsPrepare data and information for internal as well as external use, contribute to reports, and assist with project coordination tasks
Required Qualifications:Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Public Policy, or related field4+ years of experience using SAS (including macro processing and Proc SQL), R, Python, or SQL in a research, consulting, or business environmentExperience working with healthcare claims and enrollment data in large data warehouse environmentsFamiliarity with healthcare data/payment concepts (e.g., claims data structure/contents, claim types, payment concepts)Experience with alternate payment modelsExperience in preparing data and information and contributing to reports and presentationsExcellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a focus on meeting deadlinesU.S. citizenship or permanent residency required with the ability to obtain an maintain a Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Public Policy, or related fieldAcademic coursework in statistics, econometric modeling, or other comparable courseworkExperience conducing statistical analysis to inform health policyExperience with databases having complex structures and relationships, such as the Integrated Data Repository or Chronic Conditions WarehouseUnderstanding of Medicare payment methodologiesExperience managing and analyzing large datasets using SAS grid and other parallel processing techniquesExperience with other software such as Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VBA)SAS certification
