As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Platform Engineer, with expertise in Infrastructure, to join its IT team.

The System Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our virtualized infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our servers and storage solutions, and driving automation within our environment. The role is critical to building and maintaining our internal Developer Platform, which supports the infrastructure needs of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in VMware, SAN technologies, and infrastructure automation, coupled with a security-first mindset.

In Gaming1, System Engineers are acting as Platform Engineers within the IT Ops Delivery Platform cluster. Enabling technical capabilities for seamless software delivery within GAMING1 in a robust, secure, observable, resilient, and self-service way.

YOUR ROLE

Manage the capabilities related to Delivery Platform capabilities threating them as Infrastructure-as-CodeEnsure the security of Delivery Platform capabilitiesContinuous improvement and enhancement of Delivery Platform capabilities

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor or master’s in computer science or equivalent skills acquired through experienceMinimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar technology environmentAbility to combine technical expertise with an operational mindsetAbility to execute work with an infrastructure-as-code only mindsetAbility to work in a proactive, responsive, and adaptive mannerCommitted to and participating in improving personal and the team’s competenciesThrive working as part of a close-knit team, making decisions together that deliver the most valuable experience to the delivery clusters as the main Developer Platform customersKnow when to work autonomously and when to collaborate to achieve the best outcomeKnowledge of security standards and procedures related to an operational platform landscapeGood understanding of Platform Engineering, SRE, and/or DevOps practicesSoftware coding skills in any language, ideally.NET or PythonWorking experience with one or more of the following:Virtualization technologies, particularly VMware (mandatory) and Nutanix (a plus)Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.Installation and administration of Windows Server and LinuxSAN technologies, specifically NetApp and HPE AlletraAdministration of Cloudflare for DNS management, Web Application Firewall (WAF), anti-DDoS solutions, and content deliveryAdministration of Fortinet firewalls, routers, and switchesNetwork management, including WAN routing and IPsecScripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, or other languagesDevelopment and maintenance of internal Developer PlatformsAdministration of observability and security tools like DataDog, Prometheus, Open Tracing, Tenable, Zabbix, and Grafana
