INTERNET OF THINGS ENGINEER – BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) – PERMANENT POSITION
We’re currently recruiting an Internet of Things Engineer to join a leading provider of AI-driven solutions, transforming industries through the power of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.
Their products and services are designed to improve efficiency, drive business intelligence, and enhance customer experiences across various sectors, including healthcare, smart cities, manufacturing, and retail.
As an IoT Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying IoT solutions that integrate seamlessly with our AI-driven platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create smart, connected systems that leverage AI to deliver actionable insights and automated decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and architect IoT systems that connect devices, sensors, and actuators to our AI platforms.Develop end-to-end IoT solutions, including hardware integration, communication protocols, data acquisition, and cloud services.Collaborate with AI and data science teams to ensure IoT data is effectively integrated and processed for AI applications.Develop and maintain firmware for embedded devices, ensuring robust and secure communication between devices and cloud services.Integrate IoT devices with cloud platforms, utilizing APIs and other communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP/REST, WebSockets).Implement edge computing solutions where necessary, enabling real-time processing and analytics on IoT devices.Perform testing and validation of IoT systems to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.Develop and execute test plans for IoT devices, including functional, security, and interoperability testing.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IoT device connectivity, data integrity, and performance.Ensure IoT solutions meet industry standards for security and data privacy, including encryption, authentication, and secure firmware updates.Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and implement measures to protect IoT systems from vulnerabilities.Work closely with product managers, software developers, and AI engineers to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.Provide technical support for IoT systems during the deployment and operation phases, assisting with troubleshooting and updates.Contribute to technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and system architecture diagrams.Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IoT technologies, standards, and best practices.Experiment with new IoT hardware, sensors, and communication protocols to identify potential improvements and innovations.Participate in R&D projects aimed at exploring new IoT use cases and enhancing our AI solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.3+ years of experience in IoT system design and development, with a strong understanding of IoT architectures and protocols.Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java, especially for embedded systems.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and edge computing.Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT) and network protocols.Understanding of data security, encryption, and privacy considerations in IoT environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning new technologies.Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
