This position is expected to start around January and continue through April/May. Internships are in-person for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

Tesla is seeking highly motivated software engineering students who interested in the field of Site Reliability Engineering. Our SRE’s are incredibly talented and responsible for planning, designing and managing key infrastructure components. Interns in this organization will be part of a collaborative team of engineers who push the boundaries of Tesla products and services.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with a cross-functional team of SRE engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand complex application architectures, enabling the implementation of an effective top-down monitoring strategy for holistic service visibilityBuild, maintain, and monitor dashboards for critical infrastructureCreate and tune alerts for network and hardware so that potential problems are identified, routed, and remediated earlyFacilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation, diagrams, and runbooksRespond to and resolve support requests in a timely fashion while managing project timelines and other responsibilities

What You’ll Bring

Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science or related field of study with a graduation date between 2024 – 2025Proficiency in one or more of the following developer skills: Python, Go, Java, C/C++ or other common industry languagesExperience with building and/or maintaining infrastructure and servicesNice to haves: React, JS, Angular, CSS MySQL, MS SQL, OracleExcellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts and ability to write well-organized codeEagerness to collaborate cross-functionally with other Engineering teams while able to work independently; detail-oriented and execution focusedGenuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built and how they operate

Expected Compensation

$36.06 – $50.48/hour, depending on level + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
