Lead Credit Risk Analyst
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-time
Location: London or Bradford. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.

The Role
As a Lead Credit Risk Analyst, you will be reporting to the Credit Risk Manager. In this role you will provide an invaluable opportunity to drive significant change and value for the Bank through a range of insight-providing analytical projects.
In your day-to-day role, as a Credit Risk Analyst you will:
Develop expert understanding of the customer management lifecycle, including all aspects of decisioning and customer touch points.Drive the optimization of lending decisions through test and learn initiatives to identify champion strategies.Investigate and develop new data sources for analysis and decisioning.Support business growth and portfolio profitability while balancing risk, reward, and responsible lending, and controlling credit quality and performance.Ensure lending decisions are accurate and appropriate through close tracking and monitoring.Perform inquisitive and innovative analysis and provide logical recommendations resulting in customer and/or business benefits.Devise, initiate, and deliver complex analytical/data-driven projects, fully incorporating customer and business implications throughout.Automate and streamline processes to maximize integration, effectiveness, and efficiency.Provide insight and set expectations through targeted analysis, forecasting, and development of regular MI.Lead projects for the department, working autonomously to engage key stakeholders, ensuring all decisions comply with the relevant risk management framework and managing controlled delivery from concept to implementation.Contribute to and challenge working practices and methodologies in a constructive manner.
What will make you stand out?
Essential
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in analytical/programming roleAdvanced knowledge of coding in SAS and SQL with practical experience in a commercial environmentClear, logical and analytical approach to problem solvingStrong attention to detail / accuracy.Expert knowledge of Excel and able to demonstrate proficiency with formulae & VB Macros. Competent in all other standard MS Office applicationsExperience of creating customer, commercial and marketing performance insights from source data, utilizing visualisation tools to best present these insights.Good knowledge of data compliance regulations and principles, e.g. GDPR, POR, PRAAD.Very good risk management including identifying risks or detriment that could impact our customers, and appropriately raising these within department.Good knowledge of Finance terminology, Banking P&L, good regulatory knowledge and awareness, including business implications.
Desirable
Knowledge of other relevant programming/analytical tools such as R, Python, Hadoop, TableauExperience in analytics related to customer value management, including marketing and/or credit riskGood understanding of the mechanics of a credit card with respect to payments and usage of the product.Good knowledge of Credit Risk with respect to Credit Cards, Credit Reference Agency data, scores and characteristics.Knowledge of Credit Decisioning systems (e.g. FICO Originations Manager, Experian Power Curve, Transact, Triad/Blaze).Very good understanding of customer journeys, decision waterfalls, scorecard cut-off setting and strategy optimisation through decline rules
