Job Description

Primary Function of Position

We are seeking dynamic engaged, energetic and high-capacity intern candidates for the Manufacturing Software Engineering team. Our team designs and develops the software and algorithms to help and automate product manufacturing to assure each product’s performance and safety. Our intern will report to Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Software Engineering and will have a wide range of opportunities including building software and tools for manufacturing equipment and data analysis, working as part of a big project team/

Essential Job Duties

Design, develop and test software systems that control machines to streamline manufacturing processCommunicate and partner with cross-functional teams to provide project updates and deliverablesPresent the projects involved and lessons learned to the organization

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level.Engaged experience on at least one modern programming language (C#, Python preferred)Enthusiasm and passion for automationEngaged, fast learner, willing to work on both software and hardwareTeam player, good oral and written communication skillsEffective critical, time management skills

University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements

University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.

Preferred Skills And Experience

Familiar with OOP-OOD concepts, modern programming languagesFamiliarity with software frameworks, tools, data engineeringExperience with hardware control, firmware, automationCan identify and debug software and hardware issues in complex software systems

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including relevant skills and experience for this internship, degree-seeking academic program (PhD, Master’s, Bachelor’s, etc), year in school, and location. The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.
