Who we are looking for –
This Person Will Be Responsible For
Ensuring the timely matching, confirmation, and settlement of a wide range of products including but not limited to Fixed Income, Equities, Futures & Options, Derivatives and Repos.Collateral Management for Variation and Regulatory Initial margin calls utilising AcadiaSoft.Confirmation and settlement of future cash flows associated with the different products.Investigation and resolution of failed trades and cash breaks.Key liaison for custodians, dealers, brokers, and front office in relation to booking and settlement issues.Setting up securities static in the operations system (Dimension).Supporting with supervisory tasks for the daily activities of the team. Performing secondary checks on tasks carried out by Associates.Instructing the setup of new trading counterparties in the operations system (Dimension).Relationship management; build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; build working relationships with custodial teams, brokers, and counterparties.Assessing current processes with a view to making changes to increasing efficiency, reducing risk and improving delivery to stakeholders.Participation in broker/counterparty service reviews.Active participation in cross training and up skilling.Working on assigned projects relating to the wider Market Operations team.Group inbox management – ensure ad-hoc queries from internal and external clients are answered within required timeframe.Working closely with our Market Operations team in Sydney, fostering a culture of strong communication and collaboration between the two teams.
The Business Environment
The Market Operations Senior Associate will be expected to rotate through the various streams, gaining experience and exposure to all areas of Market Operations. Challenger and its various businesses invest globally in a wide range of products, some market standard and some bespoke structured investments. These include (but are not limited to); equities, fixed income, futures and listed options, FX, OTC derivatives (IRS, CCS, TRS, OTC Options).
Level Responsibilities
What you will be responsible for –
Support Team Leaders and Associates to ensure all work done each day.Back-up coverage for team leaders as required.Escalate issues to management in a timely manner.Writing of any incident reports (first draft).Completion of checklist items as and when they are done.Testing as required for new modules, systems, enhancements, BCP, etc.Escalation to manager where checklists do not represent all procedures or where procedures are not covered by a checklist item.Act as a subject matter expert on functions in the team.Act as a mentor for junior team members.All mandatory training completed.Ownership of career aspirations, including discussion with manager to gain support.Training as required to carry out duties in the role. This includes minimum hours per year as set and agreed with manager.Adherence to Challenger values.
