Hamlyn Williams is working with a well-backed, fast-growing cryptocurrency exchange on their Market Surveillance & Transaction Monitoring Analyst position. This Analyst would be responsible for protecting the platform by examining and investigating alerts correlated with market manipulation and financial crime. This role is fully remote with a preference for candidates based in the NYC area.

As the Market Surveillance & Transaction Monitoring Analyst, you’d be responsible for:Monitor trading activities for indications of market manipulation, such as wash trading, spoofing, layering, and abnormal trading volumes.Examine transactions flagged by monitoring systems for signs of suspicious activity.Utilize surveillance tools to identify irregularities and improve detection capabilities.Compile thorough reports and escalate findings to senior compliance and/or regulatory teams when needed.Examine extensive data sets to identify possible risks related to money laundering, fraud, or cryptocurrency.
The Market Surveillance & Transaction Monitoring Analyst, would have the following qualification’s:3+ years of experience within transaction monitoring, market surveillance, or similar compliance roles.Experience with market manipulation schemes, such as wash trading, spoofing, and layering is required.Experience with surveillance and monitoring systems (e.g., Solidus).Relevant certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA, or similar) are a plus.Must be a U.S. Citizen or Greencard HolderMust be based in the U.S.
