About The Role & Team
In this role, you will manage the technical design, development, and maintenance of applications and systems, leveraging both existing and emerging technology platforms. As a Java Lead Engineer, you’ll lead a team
of Java developers to create high-quality software solutions, ensuring that applications are performant, reliable, and responsive. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features,
while also mentoring junior developers and driving technical excellence across the team.

With over 8 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in designing and developing Java applications, you will bring a wealth of knowledge
and passion for innovation to our team. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional solutions and services to our clients and are seeking an experienced Java Lead Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team and support our
ongoing success.
What You’ll Do
Write and Deliver Code: Develop complex code and modules for new features, ensuring high quality and functionality.Understand Software Architecture: Understand the products
architecture and data flow and integration between SITA gateways and other products to enable technical refinement and accurately estimate development and testing efforts. Technical Leadership: Guide less experienced developers,
including FTEs, contractors, and offshore partners, as a technical lead.Gather and Analyse Requirements: Collaborate on gathering, managing, and analysing requirements to design new application and system features.Estimate
Work: Oversee and review estimates produced by less experienced developers for all technical work, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.Debug Existing Code: Identify and fix issues in existing code and modules to maintain and
improve system performance.Develop Coding Practices: Contribute to creating and refining coding practices, guidelines, and technical processes, and ensure compliance among junior developers.Manage Defects: Oversee the assignment
and allocation of defects to appropriate developers for timely resolution.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering.- Professional programming certification in a mainstream programming language is a plus. – Formal training in project management preferred. 8 years of experience
in software engineering.Extensive experience in a fast-paced, agile software development environment.Proven technical team leadership capabilities.Skilled in planning, describing, and implementing software architecture within
existing architectural frameworks.Extensive experience and knowledge of Java, particularly in a microservices context.Solid understanding of REST API development and security and XML Web ServicesDevOps experience in using
Ansible or Jenkins pipelinesProficient in object-oriented code design.Strong knowledge of using relational databases with Java.Ability to understand API specifications and integrate functionality into software.Knowledge
of Mongo DB databases Good understanding of networking concepts.Ability to apply application design concepts and design patterns effectively.Advanced knowledge of version control and source code management (GIT preferred).Ability
to coordinate multiple technical streams of work to deliver complete solutions.Competence in estimation (comparative estimation and story points) and leading the estimation process for small initiatives.Capability to work
well independently or as part of a team.Clear communication skills in a multicultural environment.
NICE-TO-HAVE
Add Azure / IBM MQ / RabbitMQ to the skill sets (not mandatory).Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Linux is advantageous but optional.Angular.
