We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to lead our business intelligence team and drive the development and implementation of scalable Power BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in data modeling, dashboard development, and performance optimization, along with experience managing a small team of developers.This role offers a fantastic opportunity to leverage technology to foster innovation and make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage a small team of Power BI developers, overseeing end-to-end business intelligence projects.Enhance and optimize existing BI solutions by managing coding, testing, and deployment of dashboards, reports, and data models.Provide operational support and incident management, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and report/dashboard designs.Administer and maintain the Power BI platform, ensuring stability, security, and high performance.Plan and execute Power BI system implementations, upgrades, security enhancements, and performance optimizations.Oversee Power BI tenant and capacity settings, ensuring compliance with change management protocols.Monitor and apply updates from Microsoft Power BI Service, gateway, and desktop releases, assessing their impact.Act as the primary escalation point for production and platform-related issues.Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for BI tool usage and administration.Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and service level agreements.Serve as a Power BI subject matter expert, providing training and technical guidance to promote a self-service analytics environment.Collaborate with IT teams to align Power BI solutions with business needs.Report project statuses, system implementations, and platform upgrades to management, ensuring effective prioritization.Facilitate cross-functional training and mentoring to support team development.Perform additional duties as required to support team and company objectives.
Requirements:4+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or managerial role preferred.Advanced expertise in DAX/MDX, Azure DevOps, HTML, JSON, and SQL Server.Preferred experience with Python & PowerShell scripting.Strong understanding of data integration, data architecture, and SQL Server database technologies.Expertise in SDLC processes and IT project management.Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.In-depth knowledge of security methodologies (RLS), policies, and best practices.Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Power BI products, licensing, and complex integrations.Proficiency in connecting to diverse data sources and troubleshooting platform issues.
