Role

CX2 is seeking an experienced front end software engineer to enhance the UI/UX of our electromagnetic spectrum intelligence
and effects management platform. In this role, you will be responsible for curating soldier-facing mobile and web interfaces, present high volume sensor data in real time, and shipping highly performant geospatial applications.
Your work will help deliver a full stack platform to seamlessly visualize, orchestrate, and manage CX2’s sensor and effector systems across any battlefield. As a key member of CX2’s foundational engineering team, your
expertise will direct the evolution of our core software stack, deepen our engineering culture, and deliver powerful electromagnetic warfare capabilities.

Responsibilities

Empathetic User Experiences: Carefully curate intuitive interfaces and workflows that surface immediately actionable spectrum insights, compound the effectiveness of a single EW operator, and
minimize cognitive load on usersDynamic, Low Latency Applications: The electromagnetic battle space changes rapidly, our platforms should as well. You’ll prioritize both low latency and rich interactivity as you build,
but you’ll also understand when and how to handle tradeoffs in imperfect conditionsMobile and Web Functionality: Users will leverage CX2 from both touchscreen mobile devices and larger computers with various network and
compute capacity. Optimizing performance and usability for a variety of form factors and hardware requires careful resource management, continuous evaluation of new tools and frameworks, and detailed software observabilityFirst
Class Integrations: To deliver the most powerful electromagnetic capabilities, seamless interoperability with third party platforms like TAK and spectrum analysis software is paramount. Enhance the interplay and continuity
between CX2’s platforms and customers’ existing systems by crafting robust integrations.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience shipping highly performant, data-intensive front end software applicationsExtensive expertise with interactive 2D and 3D geospatial tools and rendering libraries (MapBox, MapLibre, Google
Maps, ArcGIS, Cesium, MapTiler, Leaflet, etc.)Expertise with React, JavaScript/TypeScript and CSS, web framework(s) (Remix, NextJS, TanStack, etc.), build tools, and test toolsStrong fluency with state management, responsive
design, performance optimization, loading patterns, code splitting, memoization, etcProficiency maintaining design systems, component libraries, and design mock upsWilling to work extended hours for mission critical deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with mobile application development (React Native, Android/ATAK, iOS/iTAK)Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL, WebSocket) and message queue systems (Kafka, Flink, MQTT,
AMQP)Familiarity with web security, authentication, and authorizationExperience developing applications that function offline or do not require constant internet access (PWAs)Fluency with software telemetry and observability
tools (browser dev tools, DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.)Proficiency operating CI/CD pipelines and automated and reproducible build systems
