About the RoleThis opportunity is with an innovative blockchain project built with the foundational ethos of decentralization, censorship resistance, permissionlessness, and privacy. The network aims to provide a trustless infrastructure layer to enable communities and aspiring network states to develop social, governance, and financial systems that uphold the fundamental rights and values of their members.Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a hybrid role that combines engineering and applied research. As an engineer, you will implement specifications developed during the research phase. As a researcher, you will contribute to the design of new protocol solutions. Specific responsibilities include:Designing, specifying, verifying, and building distributed systems using formal and experimental techniques.Building proof-of-concepts and preparing executable specifications for the development team.Evaluating and implementing technical solutions based on in-depth analysis of academic papers and emerging research in blockchain, peer-to-peer networks, cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, MPC, and distributed systems.Conducting theoretical and practical performance analyses of distributed systems and presenting research findings.Ideal Candidate ProfileProficiency in Rust – This is a mandatory requirement for the role.Research experience in Distributed Systems, particularly in Byzantine fault-tolerant settings.Strong academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting work effectively to both internal teams and external audiences.Passionate about privacy, censorship-resistant technology, and open protocols.Bonus PointsExperience working with open-source organizations.Knowledge of cryptography.PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related area.Solid mathematical knowledge, especially in probability and statistics.A proven track record of scientific publications.
