The Azure Monitor Observability team is responsible for the core telemetry infrastructure behind Azure Monitor and all Azure Services. Monitoring is at the heart of every online service, and this team is responsible
for building a highly scalable and reliable world class telemetry solution for all Microsoft engineers and all Azure customers. We’re at over 100 peta-bytes scale of daily data and growing. Joining the Azure Monitoring

Responsibilities
The position requires designing and evolving the Azure Monitor Agent, that runs alongside customer’s compute workloads in the Azure cloud or on-premises, collecting telemetry signals. The software
functions reliably and efficiently on Windows and Linux and potentially more platforms, serving a variety of workloads. This role requires a thoughtful and detail-oriented software engineer who takes pride in the quality
and performance of the code they write and the manageability and extensibility of their solutions at cloud scale. This role requires understanding and practice of good design, architecture, and coding for testing/validation
suites to ensure quality control. The role will require encompassing ownership from design through implementation of core new areas of the codebase. Ideal candidate performs as a Team player with a collaborative spirit and
readiness to work within and across teams while demonstrating good initiative.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C/C++ and C#OR equivalent experience. 2+ years
of software engineering experience in production quality software, with good track record
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer
and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with design patterns, system architecture, distributed systems, and test-driven design Experience in C/C++, Rust, or other systems software
languages Systems software (Operating systems, databases tools) experience on any platform Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and telemetry systems
Software Engineering IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 – $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay
area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 – $208,800 per year.
