About the Role:We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen the foundation of their platform. This role involves building and enhancing backend systems that support third-party lender integrations and developing tools tailored for enterprise customers. Your contributions will directly impact the platform’s scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Lender Integrations: Build and maintain lender integrations, creatively working with limited APIs to meet platform standards and functionality requirements.Customer-Specific Features: Develop custom features and integrations for enterprise clients, enabling large-scale operations and managing high-value transactions, while ensuring scalability across multiple customers.Backend Optimization: Use FastAPI and AsyncIO to optimize backend performance, ensuring the platform handles high-traffic bursts efficiently and maintains reliability during asynchronous API calls.Infrastructure Improvements: Enhance backend reliability, scalability, and performance by improving logging, monitoring, testing, and automation processes.Collaboration: Review code, work closely with team members, and occasionally engage in meetings with lenders or clients to refine technical requirements.
Requirements:Technical Skills:At least 5 years of experience in backend development with a focus on building scalable and reliable systems using Python.Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with FastAPI.Strong expertise in asynchronous Python projects, particularly with AsyncIO.Proficiency in NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, including managing database instances.Familiarity with basic DevOps practices to set up and maintain environments.Proven experience in designing software architecture, breaking down complex projects, and mentoring team members.Expertise in API integration, including handling poorly documented APIs and resolving integration challenges.
Nice-to-Have Skills:Exposure to frontend integration or frameworks like React.js.Broader understanding of DevOps tools and methodologies.Experience working with other asynchronous frameworks or event-driven architectures.
Availability:Full-time role with a work schedule starting no later than 9 AM UTC.Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for addressing production issues.Availability for 1-2 days per week of meetings with U.S.-based partners.
