FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (COMPONENTS)
The Components Test team develops automated testing solutions for the most cutting-edge launch vehicles, spacecraft, and satellites in the world, and they’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer
to develop advanced software which will increase efficiency of the qualification and testing of flight hardware. As a software engineer, you will design novel solutions that will have a wide-reaching impact on the Starship,
Raptor, Falcon, Dragon and Starlink space vehicle programs. These improvements in software infrastructure will enable your peers to reach maximum effectiveness through applications, user interfaces, fleet management, drivers,
dashboards, analysis or other process improvements necessary to achieve our goals of advancing the space program.
Responsibilities
Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across many SpaceX teamsOwn all aspects of software development, including design, testing, and deploymentCreate new applications that improve
the automated testing lifecycle including web applications, drivers, dashboards, and alerting toolsDeep dive into your users’ problems to find and create efficient solutionsBring your voice to the table in team collaborations
on architecture, design, and code reviews
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics or other engineering discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience
building software in lieu of a degreeExperience in full stack development
Preferred Skills And Experience
Developed, debugged and deployed software that has been used in real world applications and projectsExcellent communication skills both written and verbalThorough knowledge of computer architecture and networksCreative approach
to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentalsProgramming experience in Python, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented languageFront-end experience in Angular, React, or similar
JavaScript frameworkExperience with web-technologies such as nginx, haproxy, redisExperience with build systems like Make and package management tools such as pip, npm, nugetExperience with UNIX-like operating systems and
tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet for managing themProduction experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container and deployment tools.Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies
Pay Range
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Level I: $120,000.00 – $145,000.00/per year
Level II: $140,000.00 – $170,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary
bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement
plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per
year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.
