As a Senior Full Stack Engineer specializing in Bitwarden’s billing systems, you will lead the design and development of the payment infrastructure that powers Bitwarden’s subscription services for millions of users worldwide. You’ll own critical revenue-generating systems while solving complex technical challenges at the intersection of security, scalability, and user experience. This role offers unique opportunities to make significant contributions to both our open-source community and enterprise solutions.

This is a fully remote team, and we’re looking for someone located in the U.S. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and maintain scalable billing and subscription management systems that process transactions for millions of global usersArchitect and implement secure payment processing flows across web applications, APIs, and database systemsLead the integration of multiple payment provider APIs and webhooks to support global payment methodsTroubleshoot and resolve complex billing-related customer issues that require deep technical knowledge of our systemsOptimize database queries and application performance to handle large transaction volumes

WHAT YOU BRING TO BITWARDEN

Extensive experience with .NET Core and C# for backend servicesStrong proficiency with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS for front-end developmentDeep understanding of relational database design, optimization, and SQL ServerExperience integrating with payment processors like Stripe, PayPal (Braintree), and Bitpay, and implementing their corresponding webhook handlersKnowledge of security best practices for handling sensitive payment informationDemonstrated ability to design and implement RESTful APIsCollaborative and adaptable mindsetOpenness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skillsExcitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security Excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $140,000 – $200,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, relevant experience, and skill set as assessed in the interview process, as well as market data by location. See our careers page for a list of benefits.
