They have a market leading HR and Payroll platform that is used by over 35,000 businesses across 150+ countries.
The role is 100% remote and I’m looking for people based in the EMEA region.
Responsibilities: Collaborate in a Cross-Functional Team: Partner closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and QA to deliver smooth, integrated user experiences.Contribute to Product Development: Play an active role in every stage of the Software Development Lifecycle—from initial discovery and planning to deployment—sharing insights to enhance product quality and functionality.Develop and Improve Features: Build robust features and APIs while continuously refining our industry-leading products. Act swiftly to identify and resolve bugs to keep up with our fast-paced environment.Deliver a Customer-First Experience: Prioritise quality and customer focus in every development decision, ensuring a premium, customer-centric product experience.
Required Skills: Backend Development Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript, along with proficiency in at least one other server-side language.Database Skills: Expert SQL skills, especially with PostgreSQL, including query optimisation, data migrations, and database modeling.OOP and Design Patterns: Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns, with experience building and extending classes.Scalability-Focused Development: Experience in designing scalable systems capable of managing high growth and increased demands efficiently.Performance Optimisation: Proven track record in optimising systems for high transaction volumes, handling concurrency, and maintaining performance under load.API Development Skills: Experienced in building secure, scalable APIs with JWT-based authentication, input validation, and queue-based systems.Experience Requirement: At least 8 years as a Software Engineer in backend development.

Bonus Points For: SaaS Experience: Experience with SaaS products running continuously on major cloud platforms.Knowledge of Serverless Architecture: Familiarity with serverless frameworks, especially on AWS.FinTech Background: Understanding of the FinTech sector and its specific challenges.
