Job Overview
At Jataware, Senior Engineers are responsible for solving the hardest technical challenges faced on a variety of projects. Senior Engineers are expected to provide meaningful input on major technical
decisions across their projects. They will work with their respective Team Leads to ensure overall software quality which includes participating in code review of more junior team members work, enumerating and documenting
issues and bugs, using best practices in the design of codebases, and ensuring repositories have appropriate levels of documentation and testing. At their core, Senior Engineers are expert-level individual contributors charged
with tackling Jataware’s trickiest engineering challenges.
Senior Engineers will be knowledgeable about industry best practices, standards, and advancements to the state of the art. They will have a keen sense for the
best frameworks, languages, databases, and other technical approaches for solving the task at hand based on their wealth of experience and their industry knowledge.
In addition, Senior Engineers will frequently mentor more junior team members. This will generally include performing code review and pair programming sessions.
Senior Engineers typically work on more than one project at a time and will often have a broad range of knowledge across a large number of Jataware projects. For the projects they work on most closely, Senior Engineers
are expected to have a deep understanding of the technical stack.

Required:
Bachelors or higher in CS, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields (esp. ML/Data Science).Research experience in academic, industry, or government settings.Prior work on DARPA, IARPA, or government-funded
projects.Strong engineering skills with a track record of high-quality results.Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to
translate vague requirements into robust solutions.Strong problem-solving and process automation expertise.Pragmatic approach to development, minimizing technical debt.Deep Linux expertise.Proficiency in Python + one lower-level
language (C, Java, Rust, Go), SQL, and Elasticsearch.
Other Requirements:
Active Secret ClearanceWashington, D.C. metro area or surrounding regions
$150,000/year – $205,000/year. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for benefits.
