About the Role

As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll directly impact the lives of individuals managing chronic conditions on our platform. You’ll be instrumental in building and scaling to provide accessible, personalized care. As a member of our small, collaborative, and driven team, you’ll contribute to Allara’s patient experience, provider experience, developer experience, and engineering culture. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving real health challenges through technology. This individual will have the engineering experience to build and iterate quickly, can work well with product, design, and stakeholders across the business, and is comfortable with infrastructure and developer tools. This is a chance to be a foundational member of our engineering team, with significant opportunities for professional growth and leadership as we scale.

Hybrid (NYC): We value in-person collaboration and aim for at least three days per week in our NYC office, with flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with product and design teammates to deliver patient and provider-facing features for our care delivery platform.Design, implement, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable systems that you and other technical users will leverage. Support code quality and maintainability through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.Drive continuous improvement in our engineering practices, including code quality, deployment processes, and incident response.You’ll have the opportunity to experiment, learn, and grow as we continuously improve our platformInvestigate platform bugs and incidents.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in professional software engineering (5+ years) and a passion for building impactful solutions, ideally over several years of critical product delivery Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environmentExpertise with modern web development frameworksDemonstrated competency in AWS, Docker, ECS, or similarExperience in full-stack web developmentComfortable with APM, Monitoring, and Alerting systems such as Datadog, New Relic, or AppDynamicsExcited to work across all layers of a platform, diving into whatever is neededExcellent collaborator and communicator with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and other engineers

Bonus Points:

Experience in regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, or similarExperience with NodeJS/Typescript or similarExperience with ReactJSExperience with mobile development, such as React Native
