About The Role

As a part of the Shopify Revenue team, the Solutions Engineer role brings business value, technical aptitude, and product expertise. If you are drawn to constantly innovating product PaaS and to building solutions for technical and business challenges with prospective brands, this job is for you.

Alongside Large Account sales, the Solutions Engineering team works directly with notable brands and entrepreneurs to develop their commerce strategies, whether that is starting their e-commerce business, building out an omni-channel solution, or leveraging the power of Shopify Payments to scale. This is where you can come in.

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll drive the technical solutioning for our merchants, build POCs, lead demonstrations and enable our sales and cross-functional teams to show how merchants can accelerate the growth of their business with Shopify Plus.

Requirements for the role:

2+ years of experience in presales solutions engineering or consultingStrong executive presence, capable of effectively articulating and advocating ideas to key stakeholders, driving consensus, and influencing decision-making processesSolid understanding of cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentalsDeep understanding of technical strategy as it relates to operating and growing commerce businessesHands-on skills of front-end web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid)Strong API knowledge (REST and GraphQL) for enterprise integrationsGreat troubleshooting and analytical skills combined with the desire to tackle challenges head-onStrong ability to prioritize work in a high velocity environmentNative or fluent in English plus Spanish as an additional language

Projects, activities, and expectations of your role include:

Work to help qualify and close deals from a technical requirements perspective with Sales and development partners/agenciesEngaging with clients through requirements discovery and strategic consulting sessionsCreating customized product demos and proof of concepts for use during virtual or on-site client demonstrationsAct as a SME on projects with cross-functional teamsParticipating in online webinars and in-person events/speaking engagementsBecoming an expert on Shopify’s application ecosystem and integrationsAligning with product and RnD teams on future roadmaps and sharing feedback on released features and client trendsMentoring and coaching the sales team on technical aspects of Shopify Plus
