Position: System Engineer – Infrastructure and Network SpecialistLocation: Ghent, Belgium (Hybrid work model – 2 days onsite, flexible remote)Experience: 3-5 years
About the Company:My client specialises in delivering robust IT solutions to their B2B customers. Their team is dedicated to implementing and maintaining systems that meet the unique needs of our clients, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. We are currently seeking a System Engineer who will play a critical role in supporting and advancing our infrastructure and systems.
Responsibilities:Implement scalable and robust IT systems and infrastructure.Monitor, maintain, and optimize system health and performance.Configure and manage network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues to ensure seamless operations.Implement and manage security measures to protect systems and data.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
Requirements:3-5 years of experience in system engineering.Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Windows OS).Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN).Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (Office 365, Azure).Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell).Familiarity with firewall and switch configuration is a plus (Fortinet, Aruba, Cisco Meraki).Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Familiarity with ITIL processes.
