What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
You will join our expense team in charge of building the best-in-class expense management tool for Egencia, an Amex GBT Company.
As a software development engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, and resilient software solutions that meet the need of our clients.
You will work in agile (Scrum, Kanban) on a distributed architecture, composed of micro-services deployed on AWS. We are dedicated to apply the best standards and keep our tech stack up to date to provide a high-quality product that meets our clients’ needs. Your role is to:
Contribute to new features from inception to production, working across the company with product managers, UX designers and other teams in an agile environment.Design and develop software application components as well as automated tests.Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code inline with industry standards.Work daily with these methodologies: Agile, TDD, BDD.Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing codes/systems.Analyze customer feedback and identify opportunities for enhancing the customer experience.Contribute to the production duties for the services owned by your team: Monitoring, Release Management, …Contribute to our inner-source culture (Internal Open Source) by delivering high quality code that levels up not only your team, but the entire organization.Opportunity to showcase your work on our tech blog and internal & external conferences.Evolve into a team-spirit and inclusive mindset environment.You will evolve using leading-edge development technologies such as: hexagonal Architecture, Domain Driven Design, Event Storming, and Software Craftsmanship.
What We’re Looking For
You have at least 5 years professional experience with Java.The innovation is your creed, keen on technology watch, you are eager to increase your productivity using tools such as ChatOps! An engineering degree (or equivalent) and a fluent English are required to join our technological teams!Knowledge in Javascript and Front – End Development are a plus for your application.You have a strong experience with RESTful API and service-oriented architecture.You are passionate about reviewing your work and that of others.You have learned that you build better software in a team that practices agile methodologies.You embrace the DevOps approach as you believe dev teams should be responsible for deploying and monitoring their applications with tools such as Kibana, Datadog, Github, Hubot etc…You cannot work without a good CI/CD pipeline based on Maven, Jenkins, Cucumber, Selenium, JUnit, Wiremock, Mockito, GitExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailYou enjoy working in an international and multicultural context that promotes diversity and inclusion.
