The Role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in our SoFi Money product architecture transformation, focusing on the evolution of our banking core and the implementation of enhanced account structures, including readiness for new products. We are working hard to design a future looking framework, with the aim to scale our customer base, continue to delight existing customers, and disrupt the banking industry. You’ll be working within a highly collaborative environment where planning and executing through a unified campaign lens is essential due to the complexity and interdependencies of these initiatives.

What You’ll Need

You will have graduated and your highest level of education is only a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related major (Spring 2025 New Grads or within 1 year of graduation)You are available to start working immediately in Spring 2025Previous intern experience with software engineering is requiredNo more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience (excluding internships and research assistant roles)Reside in the United States and attend a university in the USProficient in Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, and DynamoDB/PostgreSQL.Experience with modern OOP languages, Java frameworks, REST APIs, and relational/NoSQL databasesStrong knowledge of object-oriented programming best practicesStrong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completionWillingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others and get stuff doneAffinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features, not polishing perfect code or architectureExperience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requestsStrong communication and technical leadership skillsDesire to mentor and help others improve their skills

Nice To Have

Proven track record of building highly-scalable REST APIsExperience with workflow orchestration systems, such as Temporal.ioPrior experience deploying applications using Docker and KubernetesPractical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (gradle, git, automated testing and deployments)History of working with a cloud-based microservice architecture and distributed service communication

Compensation And Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
