About The Role

As an early engineer at Orb, you’ll help to build the technical foundations of a critical product that needs to be reliable and accurate at scale. You’ll work closely with our customers to understand pain points in their business processes, and help incorporate those insights into our product roadmap.

In This Role You Will

Tackle a broad range of technical challenges with our team like:Our product data model should be simple to understand and powerful enough to support the sophisticated needs of an array of businesses Our system needs to maintain the scaling characteristics to support real-time ingestion and query, which come with the design challenges of performance, consistency, and load isolation.Orb’s product approach centers around extensibility, where developers can build on top what comes out-of-the-boxYou’ll also lay the groundwork for engineering and product processes, ensuring that our team can continue to build quickly and serve our customers for years to come.
About You

You have 3+ years of experience in software engineeringEnthusiastic about working on a broad range of technical challenges across the stackAttention to detail in designing a product with deep user empathy: in visual UX, API design, and everything in betweenExcited to engage with customers directly to shape the Orb productBased in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate (with support from Orb)

Have worked on developer-facing products or an internal platform teamHave experience working on large-scale data infrastructure problems or distributed systemsEnjoy understanding the nitty gritty of technical domains deeply
