Reports to: Lead Software Engineer

The role of Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software and systems within the TOCA Social box as well as the TOCA Football studio. The role is within the Technology department based at our R&D facility in Acton, London. The role comprises python software development and has aspects of computer vision, machine learning, micro services architecture as well as cloud systems.

Role Scope & Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Python softwareExecuting projects from prototype to production, with support from the Engineering and DevOps TeamsSupport and troubleshoot existing software in production environmentsConduct research and develop prototypes for new product features or internal toolsInterface with electronic hardware and mechanical components to ensure seamless software integrationWorking closely with the engineering team to develop and validate new ideasMaintain and enhance existing deployed codebase for performance, reliability, and scalabilityUsing AWS Cloud to deploy and maintain systems/softwareWrite clear and testable code following best software engineering practicesContribute to performance monitoring, logging, and error-handling strategies for production systems Engage in code reviews to ensure quality and encourage knowledge sharing within the teamStay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar technical degree1-2 years of experience in a Software Engineer, or similar roleCommercial experience with Python and GitExposure to LinuxC++, AWS Cloud, Docker, SystemD beneficial but not absolute requirementsAn energetic tech-minded individual who is eager to get stuck in and grow with the businessWillingness to occasionally travel nationally and internationally for a period of 2-4 weeks at a time
