This is a hybrid role based in Colchester, United Kingdom.
The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain high quality secure software tools. This position requires strong technical and communication skills as well as the ability to work both independently and with a team.
Key Activities
I can fix moderately complex bugs in code I am familiar withI can debug and fix basic bugs in code I am unfamiliar withI can independently build new code if I am provided with architectural assistanceI have a very good understanding of .net and C#I know and can apply SOLID principles and software design patterns such as Dependency InjectionI can write reliable unit tests either in TDD or post-implementation to 80% of code coverageI can encourage, mentor, and build the skills of junior developersI can review all code against coding standards and provide constructive feedbackI collaborate effectively with testers and DevOpsI can diagnose any Third Line support enquiry in code I am familiar with and basic support enquiries in unfamiliar code.I can understand and resolve the root cause of support issues to prevent reoccurrenceI understand that we work as a team and the team succeeds or fails togetherI actively contribute to sprint planning meetings and development task estimationsI understand the need for efficiency in code and can avoid writing inefficient codeI understand common security vulnerabilities and avoid introducing them in my code
Required Skills & ExperienceExperience working in Microsoft .NET / C#Utilizes Microsoft Visual StudioExperience with Databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQLGood problem-solving skillsSOLID principlesDependency InjectionUnit TestingUnderstanding of REST web servicesWeb UI development (including JQuery, React/Angular)Interacts with and influences colleagues, may oversee others or make decisions which impact routine work assigned to individuals or stages of projectsHas working level contact with customers, suppliers, and partners. Understands and collaborates on the analysis of user/customer needs and represents this in their work.
