What will your role be?Scalian is seeking a Software Engineer with specialized experience in Battery Management Systems (BMS) to join our innovative engineering team. Your role will focus on ensuring the performance of power systems such as BMS—critical to eVTOL aircraft or electric vehicles. You will leveraging your experience in DO-178C compliance and the full V-cycle design process, you will play a key role in validating and optimizing these systems for real-world operation.
Activities: Design, develop, and integrate software components related to Battery Management SystemsEnsure software components meet DO-178C standards and adhere to V-Cycle design methodologies, from requirements through validationModel and simulate system-level interactions including power distribution, charge/discharge cycles, and fault handlingPerform rigorous testing and validation to ensure system safety, performance, and complianceAnalyze and troubleshoot BMS-related issues and contribute to system-level problem solvingCreate and maintain detailed documentation of design, development, testing, and verification activitiesStay updated with industry trends in BMS technology and apply insights to optimize software performance and reliability
What skills and qualifications are we looking for?5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degreeBackground in BMS development, with experience from eVTOL projects or electric vehicle platforms highly preferredDemonstrated experience with DO-178C software development standards is a mustFamiliarity with V-cycle methodologies and lifecycle processesExperience in aerospace or automotive industries is a strong plusAbility to develop and test models that accurately simulate electrical and embedded systemsExcellent analytical and communication skillsExperience debugging, profiling, and optimizing embedded software
