About Content Engineering Organization

Content Engineering builds the products and services used by our internal and external creative partners producing and managing our global content. Our products enable the entire workflow of content production and promotion, from pitch to play, and provide innovative new ways to develop and manage entertainment at scale.

We are hiring for this role across the following Content Engineering teams:

Studio Production Engineering

In this team, you will have a direct impact on how the Netflix studio creates and produces shows, such as “The Witcher”, “The Crown” and “Stranger Things” on a global scale. With an increasing slate of original content being produced every year, our products manage billions of dollars worth of content-spend.

Content Promotion & Distribution Engineering

This team has a direct impact on our business users and consumers by building products that allow us to manage our global entertainment catalog, as well as our next generation off-service experiences.

Content Infrastructure & Solutions

Content Infrastructure & Solutions (CIS) empowers engineers working on content and studio applications to be innovative and agile in supporting our massive global content production needs. We do that by providing scalable and resilient infrastructure to address integrated large-scale media, assets, data, workflow, and communication use cases. Examples of this organization’s work include massive-scale media processing platforms (1, 2), workflows (conductor), and data processing at scale.

Content Finance Engineering

This team builds products to help Netflix plan, spend and account for the money we spend producing world-class, award-winning, high quality, and diverse content. The goal of our team is to provide accurate planning of our content budget, help production houses manage their production budget, accounting of content spend and reduce the risks associated with reporting of the content spend.

We need your help to build the technologies that allow us to scale our efforts across the globe, and do so effectively and efficiently!

This role is based in Warsaw and our teams work in a hybrid-working model.

Your Day-to-Day

Work cross-functionally to build, test, deploy, and launch backend services that operationalize our workflows at scale.Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.Evaluate new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve our rapid application development tooling and conventions.Regularly learn and influence new systems and tools as the Netflix platform and ecosystem evolve.Participate in our on-call rotation and lead the incident reviews.Effectively communicate complex technical issues and solutions to stakeholders.Live company values, actively engage in team discussions and provide mentorship while holding the team accountable for collective standards.

We Would Love To Work With You If You

Have experience architecting, building, and operating resilient, highly-available, high-scale, low-latency microservices in production environments, with a proven track record of ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.Are proficient with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation, and relational and non-relational data stores. Have recent, proficient experience with Java, C#, or other OO programming languages with a solid understanding of OO design principles, concurrency, multi-threading, performance tuning, and observability. Have the ability to proactively describe complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders, driving conversations and decisions through written and/or verbal communication.Have a strong sense of ownership, independence, bias towards action, and inclination for collaboration.Are able to recognize, communicate, address and lead the technical improvements as part of the roadmap.

You Will Stand Out As a Candidate If You

Have some of the experience below. These aren’t must-haves, but certain teams prefer them, and they can help you fit better in specific roles:

Have experience working full stack, with skills in frontend and backend development, and you are open to diving into both areas when necessary.Have experience creating platforms, tools, or infrastructure for engineers, with a focus on understanding their needs and designing long-term solutions.Have experience in storage or media processing domains, working with SLOs, SREs, and observability platforms (bonus if you’ve built an observability solution). Have experience developing build tooling, delivery automation, and self-service infrastructure tools.Have experience building software and distributed systems for media production and/or distribution workflows is strongly desired.
