The Software Engineer is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the software systems that power our business unit.

The role is for a mid-level hands-on skilled software developer with ability to deliver high quality, well-designed software.

You will share responsibility for the quality of the software being built, including but not limited to; achieving desired business outcomes; meeting reliability and performance expectations; safely managing security and data privacy concerns.

As a Software Engineer, you would be expected to have understanding how web applications are delivered within an enterprise environment. You are expected to have experience with back end technologies (Java Springboot). Experience with front end technologies though not required will be desirable (React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML).

Responsibilities of the role include: Software design and implementation, Testing (acceptance, functional, integration, unit) Agile software delivery, Collaboration, Implementation of secure code practice.

Knowlegd of Agile and Lean software development practices as well SDLCExperience in embedding best practices in software development within a teamAbility to collaborate and contribute to the organisations engineering culture.Experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, code reviews etcExperience researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in a production environmentA strong end to end technical understanding how applications within an enterprise environment run and operateKnoledge of back end technologies (i.e Java, Springboot, API, REST)Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms beneficial such as AWS – EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cloud watch etcContainerisation technology concepts, such as Docker and KubemetesKnowledge of important software design consideration, Security Performance, Data privacyEnthusiasm for learning and driving adoption of the latest technologyExcellent problem solverGreat communication skills (written and verbal) that will enable successful collaborationGood understanding of security principlesGood prioritization and time management skillsDriven and motivated by team and company successHighly professional with high integrityAttention to detail and a willingness to take ownership of issues and deliverables
