Position Overview:

The Aravo product development team places an emphasis on meaningful contribution by all members in a creative, collaborative, and sustainable environment where opportunities for growth, leadership, and recognition abound. The Engineer will enhance and maintain a highly configurable, multi-tenant, enterprise class, SaaS solution that incorporates cross-organizational collaborative workflows, data integration, and a rich user interface built on a complex data model. This role will work primarily on the design and implementation of solutions that integrate with infrastructure, new and existing services, monitoring systems and internal tooling to provide a secure, reliable, supportable platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and supportable services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS applicationManage and improve CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and configuration management, focusing on engineering efficiencies, quality, and security, to accelerate deployment cyclesEffectively communicate risk and impact of changes by defining technical requirements through collaboration with stakeholders to understand functional, system, and data requirementsDrive sustained improvements in our platforms observability to proactively identify issues, improve system health, and reduce incident resolution timeContribute to architectural discussion and champion best practices for code quality, security, and operational excellenceCreate and maintain technical documentation for system architecture and operational proceduresProvide training to team members as neededStay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, proposing and implementing improvements to enhance the SaaS platformAssist in diagnosing and resolving customer issues, offering support for debugging and remediating issues

Participate in Agile/Scrum practices such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as well as managing project timelines and deliverables effectively

Requirements

Qualifications:

6+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise SaaS Java applications built on top of a spring frameworkExtensive experience with database modeling and concepts; Oracle experience a plusAdept at designing solutions in public, private, and hybrid infrastructure modelsExperience with the full software development life cycle, including a strong quality focus, and demonstrable success with design reviews, code reviews, and unit testingLeveraging automation tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaC, configuration management) to modernize systems and processesProficiency in utilizing and integrating with modern observability tools for monitoring system health, analyzing trends, and proactive issue detectionEffective communications skills honed refining requirements and solving complex problems within a collaborative team environmentThe capacity for viewing the big picture while consistently delivering product in a hands-on development positionExperience using agile software development methodologyExperience integrating JS UI frameworksExperience debugging complex applications in Linux environmentsAbility to quickly come up to speed on a complex technical architectureDesire to contribute in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
