Principle Duties And Essential Functions

Your main responsibility will be creating software components for Adtran OS system which is the common software platform for Adtran WDM and Ethernet Access devices. Mainly the middle layer of the software stack which includes for example:

device configuration managementmessaging queuesdatabase managementvarious system general purpose librariesperformance monitoringand others …

Key points of the everyday work

Software development according to Agile methodology (Scrum and Test Driven Development)Working with a complex, multi-application system which manages network devicesDesigning and writing software according to internal technical specification and/or telecom standardsInvestigating, analyzing and fixing reported defectsRegular cooperation with teams from Poland and the USA, China and Germany

Technology we use

Code is modern C++, including the latest standards (compilers are regularly updated to pick up features from the new standards)For version control we use GitFor code review we use GerritFor software building process we use CMakeWe work in continuous integration environment.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

3rd/4th-year Telecommunications, Computer Science, or similar faculty studentC++ programming skillsUser experience with Linux systemsEnglish language on communicative level to discuss technical issues with colleagues abroadAvailability to work at least 24 hours a week
