Position Summary:We are currently looking for an engineer with a focus on VxWorks development to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. You will be primarily responsible for software development in support of Unmanned Aircraft avionics design, manufacture and testing. Peer review and effective communication across disciplines are critical to improving the design cycle.
Basic Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, etc., or equivalent experience· Working knowledge of application of software engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques· Previous experience working with real-time embedded development environments (VxWorks, Green Hills, FreeRTOS) (5+ years) · Low-level device driver development, experience with microcontrollers and application processors (2-3 years)· Strong C/C++ skill in an embedded environment (5+ years)· Experience developing mission critical systems (2-3 years)· Familiarity with communications busses and protocols such as CAN, ARINC-825, UART/RS232/RS485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.· Strong debugging skills through use of instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers· Ability to read and understand schematics and hardware data sheets.· Familiarity with C# and Visual Studio IDE· Familiarity with revision control systems
