About the Role
We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who thinks crazy ideas are normal, doesn’t take ‘No’ as an answer, and thrives on the bursts of dopamine that come with startup responsibilities.
As a Machine Learning Engineer at Voltai, your ultimate goal will be to build AI systems that deeply understand and innovate within the semiconductor and electronics domains, serving our customers .
You will be responsible for developing and evaluating advanced systems that integrate LLMs, NLP models, and retrieval algorithms. Your work will involve structuring and optimizing data for training, designing and executing innovative search and retrieval algorithms, and building AI products that address a wide range of tasks in the electronics and semiconductor fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate extensive systems comprising interconnected LLMs, NLP models, and retrieval algorithms.Structure data for training models and optimize both open-source and closed-source models, considering various constraints.Design and execute innovative search and retrieval algorithms.Create and implement model evaluations, along with synthetic and human-collected data for various tasks.Build AI products that address diverse tasks in the electronics and semiconductor domain.Train and fine-tune LLMs and MMMs, and train foundation models from scratchWork directly with end customers, owning strategy and implementation
Required Skill Sets:
Strong software engineering skills.Deep expertise in machine learning, with a focus on fine-tuning large language models.Experience in developing and managing large-scale machine learning systems.Proven track record of publications in top AI conferences and competitions.Experience implementing research papers into production code.Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques, including the latest prompting and inference-time search methods.Experience at AI companies and research labs.
Compensation Philosophy
At Voltai, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional rewards. Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the value each team member brings to our pioneering efforts in the semiconductor and AI industries. For this role, we anticipate the starting annual base salary to be within the range of $150,000 to $400,000, adjusted according to the candidate’s experience, expertise, and impact potential. While this range provides a general guideline, the final offer may vary to ensure we align our incentives with individual contributions and the long-term success of our mission.
