In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of an operational data processing, storage and dissemination system for scientific data obtained from satellites. The system will leverage cloud technologies to ensure scalability as the demand for its services increases.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:Involvement in the design and development of data processing and analysis software systems for both current and future satellite missions for our customers in the European space industry:Implementing and testing software for space projects;Supporting the analysis of user requirements and contributing to the design and modelling of the system;Developing and deploying cloud-based systems;Implementing and testing data processing and distribution systems for space instrument data.Engaging in challenging projects as one of the key software engineers, developing systems for space applications in areas such as ground segment data processing, operations preparation and support, and automated monitoring and control of spacecraft.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:University Degree or equivalent in software engineering or a relevant field.At least 3 years of proven experience in software engineering.Knowledge of object-oriented and service-oriented design techniques.Hands-on experience in the following:JavaDatabase technologies, SQLWeb technologies (HTTP, Apache, tomcat, Web services, etc.)REST Interfaces Implementation TechnologiesUser interface design (React)Continuous Integration using Maven, Jenkins, Nexus and GITLinuxKnowledge of technical document writing – notably, user requirements, design documentation, and test documentation.Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.Solution-oriented mindset, with a customer-focused communication skill.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:Competence with user interface design (RCP, Angular, React, Vue).Proficiency in Docker and/or Kubernetes configuration and deployment.Experience with Agile software development and continuous integration practices.
